Blogust #7: Bike Expeditions, Chilling at the Beach and Buffet Dinner

Hello everyone! Good News! Today has been a good one for me! I've managed to stay rather positive which is a good thing!
Anyway, today was a bit of an adventure. Within a couple of hours of me waking up, the whole family was out on their bikes, cycling towards the beach for a chilled couple of hours.

I haven't ridden a bike in a long time before this week because the urge isn't there at home. Belgium and Holland are a lot more cycle friendly than England and therefore, it's easier and safer to cycle places. This generates an urge for me to do it. I tend to fret a lot and can get very anxious so if it's a safe environment to cycle in, I'm all for it. I was even thinking of getting a proper bike in green and white with a basket on the front and floral bike bags strapped to the back. I could then get away with cycling to more places and enjoying a bit more freedom which I'm always craving.

When we reached the beach, we spent a good hour or so sat on the golden sand, enjoying a bit of family time and, for me, carrying out a logic puzzle which at the moment I'm addicted too. I seem to be the only people in my family who are able to complete them and therefore, I can spend hours completing them all and no-one will mind.

Towards the end of our beach stay, we went and sat in a little beach side café and drank some brilliant milkshakes which sadly didn't last long. There's something about Belgium and good milkshakes. If a café or restaurant serve them, they tend to brilliant. Maybe it's just where I have been.

Soon after returning from the beach, we, once again, visited the main pool on our resort. Thankfully it wasn't like yesterday (too crowded) so I could spend more than five minutes in the water. The outside pool is always the best place to be in the sunshine because it's usually warmer than the inside pool and quieter.

In our resort, they also run an all-you-can-eat buffet for about 23 euros per person. There's something about having loads of food in front of you because I ate a LOT. Sadly, it's probably not good for my waist-line but at least I won't be snacking later tonight. The range of food was incredible. Some options of show was mussels, steak and pizza. I don't think I've ever had such a urge to cram so much on my plate(s).

I've just released my day at the beach without sun cream was not the best idea because my ankles, arms, face and back now look a bit red. Hopefully, it will ease into a gentle tan rather than horrible pealy. Hayho, what can you do.

I'm gunna sign off now for night. This has been a new record for me in Blogust posts length so I hope you enjoyed it.

Blogust #5: Travelling to Belguim, sad goodbyes and Family Time!

Hello everyone! So today has been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster for me really. Early this morning, I left Holland to travel to Belgium to meet my family who are staying at a Sun Parks resort. My boyfriends mum was absolutely brilliant and drove me the whole three hour journey with my Boyfriend in the car! I couldn't be more grateful!
Anyway, leaving Holland was tough. I have really fallen in love with the country during my two visits this year and Belgium feels a lot busier and less chilled. I like the chilled environment of Holland. I feel like I don't have to rush around there to get to places which is fantastic.
Not going to lie, I love Belgium too but its not in the same way.

When I met up with my family, we spent a couple of hours chatting and eating a fab BBQ that my dad cooked for us. It was nice to have a catch up with my family after five days but when my Boyfriend had to leave, I found it rather tough. I never thought spending five days constantly with him would make me miss him this much but I feel lost without him by my side.

The wifi in this resort is only in the main social building and it's rather slow so I've been struggling to check things over all day and writing up this blog post. I spent about an hour sat in the bar area trying to work the wifi but I have had to find another way to get my internet to work.

Me and my family went swimming in the resort later in the day. I haven't been into the swimming pool for quite a few years as we stopped going on an annual basis a few years ago. A lot has changed including tiling and they have even sent up a new slide but there is still a lot of things that are the same. It's a bit like a trip down memory lane for me here. I have a lot of childhood memories surrounding this place.

We spent a good two hours in the swimming pool going down slides, whizzing around the lazy river and exploring the pool. It was nice to spend some quality time with my siblings again and just mess about.

Any way, it's been quite a busy day so I think I'll sign off for today but I'll talk to you tomorrow!

Blogust #3: Amsterdam, Anne Frank Museum and BBQ

Hello everyone! Day three is here and it's been rather a good day!

So far I have been to Amsterdam and back so that we could make a stop at the Anne Frank Museum. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed inside the museum so I have no photos to share with you guys. Therefore the post today will have to be a mixer of text and pictures so I can tell you about everything.

Some of the things inside the house was really interesting but the excessive crowds and queuing let down the whole experience and feel of the place. It was pratically impossible to take things in properly. Any how, it was an interesting experience.

We later had lunch in a park full of food trucks and a big kind of pond water feature. It was a pretty chilled environment but by this point it was rather hot so it was impossible to stay any longer.

I don't know what else we have planned today apart from a BBQ later on but I'm sure it will be something fun.

I have just got back from a long dog walk down to the lake which was nice in the hot weather. The dog certainly enjoyed a swim after he was forced in.

The weather is still incredibly nice here and having been here in winter, the whole place looks slightly different then before and more colourful, making everything seem nicer and prettier.

So the BBQ is finished and it was incredibly scrummy!
We are currently sat chilling on the sofa while watching the commenwealth games closing ceremony which is cosy!
Anyway, I think I'm gunna sign off for today! So I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you tomorrow!
Have any of you been to Amsterdam? Did you go in the Anne frank museum? Tell me in the comments!
